Email addresses
AV8 holds an email address only when you ask for a watch or an API key. It is used to send the verification link, the change emails you asked for, and messages about your key. The lawful basis is performance of the service you asked for. It is never sold or shared. Each email has a link to stop it; you can also ask for deletion at hello@n84.dev.
Flight data and legitimate interests
AV8 processes flight positions broadcast publicly by aircraft and published by adsb.lol. We rely on legitimate interests: recording and publishing observed airline operations as a public record of scheduled air transport. To keep personal data out, AV8 keeps only flights by scheduled passenger and cargo airlines on an allow-list, flown by airliner types; private, business, military and blocked aircraft are discarded before anything is stored. Aircraft registrations are used only for filtering and are never published, because with a dated history they can identify a private owner.
Takedown
If you believe a page or record on AV8 identifies you or contains your personal data, email hello@n84.dev with the subject "Takedown request" and the page address. The record is withheld while the request is reviewed, and you receive a reply within 30 days. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Processors, transfers and retention
Cloudflare hosts the site and database; Resend sends emails; Stripe takes payments where a plan is bought. These providers may process data in the United States under the UK-US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Email addresses are kept while a watch or key is active and deleted within 30 days of it ending; payment records are kept for 6 years, as tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, a portable copy, or that we restrict or stop processing it. Email hello@n84.dev; we reply within one month.
